Clutch checks in KF1, KF2, KF3
Following on from the successful use of the UniLogger from UniPro to monitor the clutches at the first round of the MSA British championship series it has been decided to use them at all future rounds. Obviously there will be costs involved in this exercise and Super One is intending to purchase a unit for each competitor which is going to mean an investment of just short of £14,000. The Super One team are asking each driver to buy the fitting kit. This is a small investment considering the overall cost and Super One feel that in the long run this will save drivers money by not having to buy new clutches for each round and in some cases each race.  All drivers have now agreed to this proposal.

A pole & 2nd  place finish gave Rory Dickson the overall win  in Cadet Honda  at Larkhall and moves him up to 4th place in the Championship.  Kyle Forgie had a poor day, by his standards, but maintains his lead, drawing upon his drop option.

Another superb grid of Junior Blues`, gave rise to some spectacular racing with Colin Noble sharing the honours with Stephen Philip.  Other notable results include those of Callum Miller 3rd, Greg Turner 4th and Greg Stark in 5th.  Also rising to the occasion was Adam Barbour – a brilliant run to come in 9th out of 24 !

In Formula Blue,  Alan Young has finally realised his potential with a lights to flag win.  This result moves him to 2nd overall in the Championships, with Mike Woodside, who finished 2nd, still holding on to the overall lead. Super One Rotax at Rowrah 26-4-09

For the second round of the highly popular Rotax ABkC National Championships presented by the Super One Series, almost 140 competitors visited the Cumbrian, North of England circuit of Rowrah. The series is the U.K.’s Rotax Max Challenge qualifiers. Harrison Scott accepted the MiniMax win, when the erstwhile leaders tangled in the first final.

Come the second final, Jack Barlow arrowed back to the front after his penalty, Scott second. Edward Brand had everything under control in Junior Max, until the start of the second final. His engine stopped, repairs took too long, leaving Ashley Hand to take full advantage of his absence. The very experienced Mike Spencer and Michael Simpson were joined in the lead battles by Luke Varley in senor Max. Spencer had the first pole but had to settle for two thirds, Varley and Simpson sharing the wins. Lucas Orrock took the first Max 177 win, before Harry Cockill overcame some setbacks to storm to the front in the second final.

Rowrah Ramblings
Clutches were brought to timed qualifying open for inspection. After cleaning of any excessive grease, the clutches were marked for the meeting, and if anyone needed to change a part, then it was done under supervision.
Sam Ward, who had topped MiniMax timed qualifying, was excluded from the meeting (in his absence) after the second final when his cooling system was found to be ineligible. Jay Goodwin was also excluded, but for driving standards.

The next Rotax round is on 13/14th June at Buckmore Park.
